I called several companies for a quote on automobile transportation for my truck. I went with Dependable Auto Movers because the lady was friendly, the price was great, and they pretty much assured me of a timely delivery. I set this up on 06/19/06 and set up a pick up date for 07/03/2006 and an approximate delivery date of 07/15/2006. I brought my truck to my parents house 06/27/2006 so that they could be there when it was to be picked up because I was going on vacation until 07/10/2006. After getting back from vacation, my parents informed me that the truck had not even been picked up yet. So I called and spoke to an operator and she told me that they have been busy but that I would be moved to the top of the list. I thought that was fine and that I would just have to rent a car for a week until I received my truck. However, when 07/21/2006 rolled around and I had to rent a car for another week.

After, a million of excuses and promises I finally canceled their services on 07/24/2006. Several days later I found that they did not give me a full refund of my money. When I called they said they had to charge me for a processing fee and to which I said they cost me two weeks of rent-a-car fees, but they still refused to give the full refund. Their refusal led to me filling a claim on this website. I wanted to sue them for the money I had to spend on rent-a-cars but now I just want everyone to know that this company is a rip off.

Jared placed his order on 6/19/06 with the stipulation that there be no delivery before 7/11/06, so the first date of availability was 7/5/06. Our normal time frame for finding a driver is up to 10 business days from the first date of availability. When Jared called in, it was explained to him that it was difficult to find a driver because of the huge backlog in California at the time (over 2400 cars waiting to be moved); and that we would continue to look for a driver for him. He did cancel his order with us and he was given a refund of his $100 deposit. Number 1 in our terms and conditions does state that we charge a $10 non-refundable processing fee. Our terms & conditions also states that Dependable Auto Movers is not responsible for rental car fees. We try to secure a driver as quickly as possible for all of our customers, unfortunately some circumstances are out of our control (mechanical breakdowns, drivers quitting, unavoidable delays in picking up or dropping off vehicles, accidents, backlogs in certain areas, etc.) Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
