DHL Do not honor written quote and charge 4 x more Kingsport Tennessee Nationwide
I requested a shipping quote with DHL and I did write the following informations on my request : Motorbike KTM 250 cc 200 pounds from Kingsport TN to Palma de Mallorca Spain.
At this time I had not purchased the bike yet, because I had no idea how much shipment would cost and needed to look at my budget.
I received a quote of 525.00 dollars and it was ok. I then closed the deal with the seller of the bike wired 5000 dollars to the seller.
Once the funds arrived on the seller's bank account , I called DHL to organize the pick up of the bike in Kingsport and have it shipped to Spain.
They then gave me a price of 2162,14 dollars !!!!!
They do not want to honor the quote. They claim the agent should have asked me for measurments. But he did not . He never asked me for a thing and gave me a quote anyway without the measurments. I am not supposed to know the job of DHL's agents.Thanks God I have everything in writing.
I contact the complaints office, but did get nowhere. Always the same, they are sorry for the inconvenience...but in order to make a quote they need measurments...I asked this person in the complaints department to give me the name of her supervisor, or a highest employee. She said she cannot do this !Now I sit on a bike in Tn and have financial difficulties to have it shipped to Europe.Any suggestions ??
