Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Went to Maui : ) that was cool

Stayed at a Diamond Resort Kannapalli Beach Club, but not on purpose but because I didn't know KBC was strictly a time share resort.

There was a sale posted on a discount Hotel booking site. The Hotel/Resort wasn't terrible it was under going a renovation, so a little dated but it was decent. Family all suite oriented, large rooms etc. staff at the Hotel were nice. Nothing to complain about.....

Talked into going to a time share meeting from someone in the Hotel for some type of local sunset sail offering ( that's another story ) went to a typical high pressure time share meeting but being in the investment business I could tell straight away that time shares are not really an investment ... After declining the timeshare offer and after the third or fourth closing agent ... On the way out the door I was offered a "special sampler package" hmmmm ok let's see what this is I thought .....

the sales person tells you whatever you want to hear to buy this special deal...The bottom line was 10,000 pts to be used over 18 mths for approx $1200 ....., now the real reason they do this is to keep a fish on the line and keep you coming to Diamond resorts ..., fair enough ...the economy was slow and people weren't traveling so there are deals to be had.

The complaint is this the agent said that if you booked your trip within 59 days before the trip and there was room at the resort the cost would be 1/2 half the points as in 50% of the normal cost. The normal point cost for a week at KBC Maui is 6500 pts ergo 3250 pts.  The agent and I did the math and this "could" allow you three weeks at one of the selected resorts.

And Yes I did return 2x to KBC under this program. I did attend two more time share events as agreed with... verdict still out however on the timeshare as an investment. I did take a friend with on the second trip who did end up buying a small time share package for approximately $12,000

so let's recap

First trip 10,000pts -3250pts =6750pts remaining

Second trip 6750-3250=3500pts remain

Now the economy was improving people were starting to travel again especially Maui

I made several calls over the Nxt year to see about the remaing pts and suddenly there was confusion around accounting and pt values it went from you over spent your pts by 3000 pts to you have 2875 pts to 2850 pts

now the 18 mth agreement had come and gone with the run around I was getting from the good people at Diamond resorts probably I suspect because they had canceled the sale of sampler packages but were still faced with honoring these contracts. That and the improving economy... well well well for some reason "they" now record every telephone conversation hmmm interesting.... I thought that sounded like a good idea so I started recording the conversations myself.... Diamond Resort agreed to extend the contract ( recorded all calls remember )but after the last conversation they somehow have developed amnesia and now don't recall anything about remaing pts or contract extensions ....it's simply just a mystery : )

You decide if this is a company you'd like to be in business with ?! Or just check with Wally for timeshare resales if owning a timeshare is a good idea ..... Remember you're in holiday mode and everything in paradise looks wonderful ... or does it ?

Best to you all
