We purchased 5,000 points from Epic Resorts when we were vacationing in Las Vegas 10 years ago. I was not keen on the purchase from the get go, but my husband thought this was something that he really wanted, so we made the purchase. Epic supposedly did not manage the properties well and ended up selling to Sunterra. We of course watched the maintenance fees go up over the years, and I felt by the time Sunterra came on board that we were paying too much for fees when we were so called "Owners."

Oh, but then came Diamond Resorts! Okay, now with being passed around a couple of times we now own 4,000 points according to the powers that be, but we get more for our points. Right!! We can't even get a week anywhere with the points we have, but we just paid Diamond Resorts $826 maintenance fee last year and had to use almost 5,200 points for 5 nights in Orlando. Do you see where I'm going? My points aren't worth "Nada." I wrote Las Vegas Better Business Bureau and something very suspicious is going on there. I messed around with them for 6 months and they claimed they didn't get my rebuttal to Diamond Resorts when they replied to my complaint.

I resent my rebuttal and didn't hear anything. After two or three weeks I called them again and they said that Diamond Resorts doesn't belong to the BBB and there was nothing they could do. What? I have taken two cases over the years to BBB and got good results both times. These people did nothing but ignore me and then dumped me. Anyway, I'm in for anyone that is ready for a class action suit against these scheisters. They're getting by with robbery and it's very difficult to find someone who will do anything. Nevada's State Attorney General's Office with consumer complaints is no longer taking consumer complaints I was informed because of the state's budget crunch.

So these thieves get by with what they're doing because there are no agencies that are operating these days? Very scary. I've been pursuing this since Jan. and I will not stop. I wasted way too much time with a very dysfunctional BBB in Las Vegas. The rep for Diamond Resorts that we spoke with when we were in Florida in June mentioned the fact of so many owners being very upset over the huge increase in fees. We went from $400 two years ago to $826 in 2009. Do you know what really scares me - what are the fees going to be next year, and the next, and the next? There seems to be no control on these people, and what's their excuse for the ridiculous raise in fees, Oh, this was decided by the Board of Directors. Give me a break!!

We, the abused owners need to get together and take some action that will make a difference. We are seniors and cannot continue to pay more and more for less and less. Acting en masse can make a difference.

The BB historically and in practice has nothing to do with good business practices. You pay the membership fee and you are a "respected " member
