On October 30, 2001, I called 1-800-689-5664, a number that was advertised on television late at night for receiving a "Four Month Free Trial" of Diet ZX-AM PM, a new diet supplement, to try before it goes to stores.

I was told I could receive both AM and PM versions for a shipping and handling charge of $6.95 per bottle, the total being 8 bottles. This was a $55.60 charge. I went ahead and gave them my debit/Visa card number and had the charge put on there. (After all, they were "Free", so I did really mind paying something for them since it was 8 bottles.)

I waited until December 29, 2001, got the customer service no. of 800-457-0825, and Erica at extension 3531 had to re-enter my order, because it was "never downloaded." (Although my checking account had been debited for the $55.60 within a week of the order.)

On Jan. 25, 2002, Raoul told me they were shipping the orders from the last part of Oct. 2001 that day. They had been on backorder.

On Feb. 9,2002, Alma said, "you should receive it by Feb. 22, 2002, but if you want to cancel, I can do that. She said they just had "backorders." I canceled.

I never received a refund of the $55.50 S & H, and have tried to call 1-800-457-0825 several times, and all I get is a recording about "Refund Requests" for "Abenergizer, 7420 Clairmont-Mesa Blvd., Unit #103-532, San Diego, California 92111, or E-mail: [email protected]. Evidentally, Abenergizer is also an product of contention.

If I try to call the original order line at 1-800-689-5664, and ask for Diet ZX, they say it's the wrong number, and that number is now selling a product called "Thinway."

This is July 15, 2002, and I have never received a refund of the $55.60. I wrote my state's attorney general, and they got a very suspicious looking letter from someone named Claudia Garcia, Customer Service Supervisor. The letter has no letterhead, no date, no reference to Diet ZX, and no signature. As far as I am concerned, this is not a valid response to the complaint/inquiry.

I am still communicating with the Attorney General's office on this.

The sad part is, there may be some legitimate companies out there who want to get their products out to the public to try, but I will never buy anything from a television ad, or the internet, or a mail order business again!!
