Digitally Discovered Scam Ripoffs slime-ball
I purchased a digital camera (Sony DSC-P72) online at Digitallydiscovered.com. I was told to call back to confirm my order within 48 hours. I did the next day and the sales rep told me that I needed to purchase the $89 NiMH battery with charger because the battery and charger that came with the camera was not sufficient. After delaying on spending more money, the rep. told me that he can sale it to me at a government employee price for $69. I thought even longer and the rep basically told me to think about it and call him back the next day then hung-up on me.
I went online that night and try to see if I could get something similar for less and I did. The next day, I called back and this time had a different rep. helping me. I told him that I was not interested in the additional battery and charger. He told me that it will not work without it. Then after repeating myself several times, he put me on hold, returned and told me that they are out of stock and that they will ship them out to me in the next
2-8 weeks.
I told him that his website said that it was available and his explanation was that they ship them out according to the shipping priority. I ordered ground shipping so I got screwed. While those who ordered the next-day or two-day shipping get theirs shipped out immediately by law. I immediately cancelled my order in frustration.
Prior to submitting this, I checked the site and the camera was still available. I may not know about the law but this smells like a scam to me. I hope this will help those people out there who are considering purchasing at this site.
