I called Sam Beck of Discount Vending on January 5, 2009 in response to an ad posted on craigslist that mentioned 200-300 vending machines in the DFW area for cheap and that the owner will finance.

After a couple meetings at his office on N. Central Expwy. during which he spelled out the fact that I will make $200-$300 per month per machine, I agreed to make a purchase. Sam Beck insisted that I could put some money down now and that he would finance the rest. I told him I would prefer to not have a monthly payment and he accepted $1500 down and my pick-up truck as collateral for $7000 ($8500 total) for the purchase of 8 machines. Though as time passed he "soothed my nerves" by promising 10 machines and later again promising 12 machines, all for the same price, it's obvious I never received any machines in exchange for my money or truck.

Two weeks after making this "purchase" Sam Beck wanted to meet with me to discuss the transfer of ownership. I met him at his "East Dallas Warehouse and Showroom" - a dilapidated space in the ghetto full of broken half-machines and spoiled candy - where he informed me that new locks for the machines cost $10 each and that only he could get them for me because "it would look suspicious for you to walk into a vending parts store and just purchase 10 locks." So I gave him another $100.

Throughout this ordeal he assured me frequently, insisting that he put me on his church's prayer list and asking me to also pray for him because he's going through some tough times - the whole Christian shebang meant to earn trust.

Upon realizing what was happening, I called Sam Beck and told him I was moving and that I needed to borrow my truck. He insisted that I borrow his wife's bronze Chevy Avalanche. I told him I refuse to take the responsibility of moving furniture with a truck as nice as his wife's and that I really needed to just use my own. I got my truck back and of course did not return it.

I called Sam Beck to request either 1) a refund of the $1600 since I received nothing in exchange for my purchase and did not receive the 10 locks he promised -or- 2) ONE vending machine in exchange for the $1600.

Sam Beck cursed at me repeatedly, said that I was the one who "screwed" him because I took my truck and therefore broke the contract. He said that he will not return any money.

I have an unedited DVD Sam Beck made that he said he wanted to edit and turn into an infomercial and video clips for a website. He said he's been working on it for 20 years. In the beginning, when we were "friends," he asked me to look at it and give him an opinion and suggestions. The video in its entirety shows his bipolar behavior - one moment he speaks coherently to the camera, the next he's cursing at the camera guy or others around him. It's interesting to say the least.

Sam Beck said the following people are references that can be contacted to verify customer satisfaction:

Janet Maharaj

972.838.8003

Paula Fields

214.733.1112

Niel Eckert

817.235.4965

Chances are these people work with/for Sam Beck and are not "satisfied customers" as he says.

Sam Beck works closely with someone by the name of Steven Zaduck. Sam Beck told me "Steve" owns a used car dealer, owns Southwest Public Relations and owns Lucky Amusements. He explained to me that Steve is a "locator" for his machines.

Steve visits with Sam frequently; he has stopped by on a couple occasions during my meetings with Sam Beck.

The following is all the contact information I have for Sam Beck:

Of course, "somehow" none of his numbers have been working for me any more.

This, for the most part, has been my experience with Sam Beck a.k.a. Quenten Keen Beck of Discount Vending. This summary does not encompass the emotional ride it has been. I was shocked to learn of some of the amounts of money other have lost to this criminal; I find it more shocking, however, that this thief is till allowed to roam freely and prey upon other unsuspecting victims. Why is it that a purse-snatcher could get arrested if caught but someone who scams thousands upon thousands can get away with it???

If any news organizations plan on exposing this thief, if any investigation is underway on Sam Beck or Discount Vending, or if I could contribute in any way to Sam Beck's demise, I would like to know about it.

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS THIEF AND LIAR - NO NOT FALL FOR HIS SWEET-TALK OR YOU WILL REGRET IT!
