I'm sorry to say that there's not much that can be done. The problem is, when you sign a contract, you're subject to paying these fees. When you first sign up for DISH Network service, you provide your credit card or debit card number. This is used not only for the process of determining your qualification, but also for providing an account to withdraw from if the equipment is not returned. The early termination fee can be anywhere up to $240, and depending on what kind of equipment you had, that accounts for the rest of the money you were charged. DISH doesn't just come by and pick up the equipment. You have to request UPS boxes from them, and return the equipment in those boxes, otherwise you'll run into your current situation. If you want your cable switched back on, you have to contact your cable provider yourself. I'm sorry for your situation, but all of this is covered in the disclosures that were read to you and the paperwork you signed, so there's nothing you can do.
