on Nov. 17, 2005,called dish network to see if i had a contract that would keep me from disconnecting and was told, no, that there was no contract. So i called back on Nov 22, after i had all my equipment removed to disconnect my account before my bill was due on Nov. 24. At this time was told that i did indeed have a contract, and would be charged $240 for disconnecting before my contract expired. I informed him that i was told the week before that i didnt have a contract, was told there was no record that i had called. When i told him that i better not be charged, i hung up. So now more than 3 months later, i got an overdue bill, so when i called dishnetwork, i was told because i hung up and didnt tell the csr goodbye, that i wasnt disconnected and that i owed this backdue account.

I have had Dish-Network for one and half years and we have had one month that I did recieve on our monthly statement for two (2) Prepaid programs, both late in the night. One a Car Race at 5 AM in the morning, other one I cannot recall, anyway I never have ever been up at that time in the AM watching anykind of TV at all. I only presumed that I must have left the remote in bed with me and rolled over on it. I did not challenge the statement at all, just payed it, and made sure the Receiver was programmed with no PP at all. I have been not too happy with most of service. When we first started out with service I had a awful lot of stopping in middle of something and reciever had to search for the Satellite signal, maybe 30-40 times this had happened, very Irritating when in middle of something your watching. The other thing to which I knew, durning Severe weather here in Oklahoma you will loose signal, No severe weather on TV, have to use radio. Couse I knew this. Remote controller's lasted about 1 year, both of them, do not use the second reciever one now, as it is a RF type remote control and you just cannot find a replacement universal for it or I have not yet. Dish-Network will sell you one of these, but I would not trust their quality now. (The conductive material is worn out on the backside of the rubber touch-pad.) I have 13 remotes in this house to difference devices, all are old and still working. As far as Direct-TV, I just looked and they sure have more than the women reported here on this tread (Complaints).

truly a scam dishnetwork has

Eddie acts like its the customers fault, when in fact this is truly a scam dishnetwork has going, because i had been transferred to a disconnect specialist, had stated i wanted disconnected, and just because i hung up on the csr, my intent was clear to him that i wanted to be disconnected regardless of the fact that i hung up. People need to know that there are about 20 pages of complaints about disnetwork on this site and not one (1) for directv.(which is what i have now and am truly satisfied) Every chance i get i tell people to not touch dishnetwork with a 10 ft pole. I have also written to the editor in the charleston and huntington wv papers and have filed a report with the attorney general of wv. I can only hope enough consumers can get the message about dishnetwork

Typical response coming from Dish Network

I can truely understand your response Eddie. It sounds quite typical coming from Dish Network. When your company had that scam going on about referring someone and getting $5 off your bill. I refurred several people(who signed up and stayed customers for 6 months) and got nothing. I ended up taking it off my bill myself. Which in turn lead to "over due amount" that I refused to pay. This went on for quite some time. Everytime I tried to call that d**n 800 number, I was told by the automated idiot I couldn't talk to a representative until I paid my bill!!! What kind of crap is that. At this time I really could care less since I went with your competitor whom by the way is great. Thanks Direct TV. I ended up having to call the sales line in order to talk to a live idiot. The next thing I know is I've got some a*s clown from the sales department flapping his nasty tongue. I, as the original poster stated hung up on this a*s also. Within 5 minutes I get a call from, you guessed it.. Dish Network. I recognized the voice as the same person I had just hung up on. He was wondering when I was going to pay my bill. When I told him I knew who he was and that I had just hung up on him, I asked for a Supervisor. I could hear fumbling and noise coming from the other end. Then I hear the Dish Network Repesentative mummble some very vulgar and profane names to me. You Dish Network Reps must really think you have it all. Let's see, I was called a b**ch, w**re, and a cu**. By now I know I am talking to some whimp that got his thrills and anger outburst satisfied by not having the balls to speak loud enough so his co-workers sitting on the other side of his little cubical could hear him. I just kept asking to speak with a supervisor which enraged him even more. He was getting quite creative in his name calling. I just played along with his tantrum. When I asked him if was done, or if he was just psycho, he shut up long enough for me to tell him I would call back another time. I did and I explained what had happened to me and gee, guess what, I didn't pay the bill and even got credit back. You want to know how? The bright smart mouthed a*s on the other end of the line didn't shut his mouth long enough to listen to what I was trying to tell him; The telephone conversation was recorded. If you don't believe me, you may contact my sheriff's department. It is now evidence. Moral of the story. Shut your mouth, take customer relations training and talk to customers as if telephone calls were recorded by everyone. After all, if it wasn't for "customers like us", you wouldn't have a paycheck. So Eddie from Dish Network you can kiss my and everyone elses A**. We're too good to associate with your company anymore. Good Day to you.

Customers need to listen carefully..

Hi, I am a dish network cust. serv rep myself, and i have some advice for customers like you- When you call us to sign up for new service or disconnect or whatever, you have to listen to the customer service rep on the other line and hear what he's saying and not just ramble on & hang up expecting that you'll get whatever you want. If you want to disconnect service, your call has to be transfered to the disconnnections dept., if you hang up before you soeak to that dept your acnt will stay active until it is automatically disconnected due to non- payment. So, you can complain all you want & file a lawsuit if you want, cuz when it goes to court- YOURE LOSING> GOOD DAY,
