I am a Top100CD subscriber personally as well as an independent full-service DBS retailer. None of the channels in the Top100CD package to which you subscribe have been moved from the 119 orbital position at which you dish is pointed. You have not lost any of the channels for which you pay. To the contrary, many additional channels have been added to the package since the time you got the system. You may see a few less Pay-For-View channels now (I don't know for sure because I havn't counted the number of PPVs on each satellite) but they are not part of the package for which you pay. Moreover, any PPVs that moved are not showing any different events than the ones you still see. The "Dish 500" is only necessary for subscribers who want Top150 package and/or a couple of Ch's in the premium movie packages. The free upgrade deal is available to old customers that want it.

Im a Dishnetwork dealer and credit card autopay is not a requirement for a discounted Dish500 Upgrade. Alot of my customers have done the upgrade without a credit card, all they had to do was sign a 1 year commitment and pay $24.95 The $99 upgrade your talking about, is if you do not want to sign up for credit card Autopay or sign a 1 year committment for service. As a dealer, I don't feel Dishnetwork owes you a FREE upgrade. The service your getting with your Dish300 is the exact same service your getting if you had a Dish500, and because of this they are not obligated to upgrade your equipment. Now I will say this, if Dishnetwork had moved a channel in your Top 100 package to the Dish500, then by all means they need to come out and upgrade your equipment for FREE so you can recieve all your channels. Dishnetwork has been preety good about this in the past, where they moved international programming to another side satellite. Dish ended up contacting customers and upgraded those people to a secondary Dish for FREE. I don't think PPV channels qualify for an upgrade, since its not a subscription based service such as HBO. A matter of fact, I think your getting more PPV channels today with the Dish300 then you where 5 years ago.

I have been a dish customer for several months now. I enrolled in the Autopay deal. Not only is it convenient, but they do not charge for more than a month at a time. For Dish, this is cheaper than sending out a bill and processing your check. Why not sign up? If you pay your card off every month you will not get dinged with interest, you are automatically credited with payment AND you get your upgrade dish. C'mon? We all know owning satellite is a little more expensive than cable, but look at what you get compared to the crooked cable companies LIKE Adelphia.
