Has anyone ever wondered why there are several hundred reports on this site with no replies from Dish Network? Perhaps it's because they have heard them all before and know that they're accurate. They told me over the phone just prior to getting an upgrade that as a valued customer, I"d only have to sign a one year contract but when the RUDE service man came out, he made my wife sign an 18 month contract.

The original upgrade was supposed to be to install HD for us here but once they got here, they said they couldn't hook it up but did make my wife sign a new contract for their version of an upgrade. We had no HD but were stuck with an 18 month worthless contract. The service guy was very, very rude and I had him come back while I was here. He gave me a hard time so I asked him to just leave the premises.

So, to sum things up, they didn't upgrade my service, they were rude to us, and didn't live up to their end of the contract. I'm now with ATT U-Verse and while it's not perfect, I do have HD, a nice DVR receiver, and no rude service people. Way to go, Dish Network. Keep it up and maybe you can alienate ALL of your customers.

"Ever wonder why Dish Network never responds on Ripoffreport? No, I wonder why anyone would come on here in this environment and try to talk sense to people at all. No matter how innocent your are, people still can make completely unsubstantiated clams with no requirement to prove anything. If I were accused of something here I would not give it the dignity of any kind of response. They would be fools to reply.

#3Consumer Suggestion

Dish Network doesn't have any such thing as a one year contract and now has only 24 month contracts to cover their costs of installing. Also, you are not locked into ANY contract until YOU actually sign it. Maybe this was an oversight on your part. We are extremely happy Dish customers and seeing a lot of the nonsense posted about Dish from people who don't read what they are signing doesn't really warrant a response from the company. What can the company possibly do for people who don't read their contracts?...take the hit for the labor and installation equipment and let everyone out of their legal agreements? Future suggestion: know what you are getting into by reading closely.
