We moved from a 2 bdrm apt. to a 3 bdrm in the same complex. Dish Network installed the satellite tv service in our 2 bdrm, and said if we move they will move the service to our new address at no cost.

When we did move we set an appointment to have our service moved. The installer showed up LATE. After a few minutes of surveying the apt. he told me we couldn't have service at this apt.

When I asked why? He stood outside, held his arm up to the sky, and said we couldn't get any signal where we were at. So, after the installer left, I called there office. I explained what happened, and the CSR apologized, and said she was going to have a field supervisor come out and use the equipment that there issued to confirm that there was no signal. Appointment was set. The day came, and went. Field supervisor never showed up, and never called.

Called customer service again. This lady apologized as well, and said she didn't know why the field supervisor never showed. She also said there's really nothing else we could do. It took another 45 minutes sitting on hold for several minutes to convince them that I was done with this contract, and they needed to cancel it.

Less than a week later, I had Directv out here, and they got me satellite tv service at the SAME location that Dish Network said couldn't get service.

This is just a warning for those people considering Dish Network for there Satellite tv needs.

Sorry to hear what happened to you. I am a Dtv and wild blue instillation tech. and what should have happened is giving you MORE info! customers NEED to understand that every location IS different even 1 foot change can make it or break it it all comes down to which dish you have installed (per channel packege) and by which company ....dish or direct they should have explained to you that they poind at different satellites in the sky and that elevation is a factor along with that is how many degrees of a window are open to view that satellite the bigger the dish the more of a window you require some guys will install no matter what it is even if they know you will have a VERY poor signal like 14% might work for today. but will it continue? look for swagering trees in the distance ect. mabe you ended up with an installer that had your interests in mind mabe you got someone that was lazy OR you really can't get it. another issue is that this is a horrible buisiness! I loose more money than I leagaly should due to scaming sat. companies Quality checks are done periodicaly and if they feel like charging be back they will wheather or not the tech did a bad install or not! I GIVE YOU MY WORD. THIS HAPPENS DAYLY AND THEY GET AWAY WITH IT! MAKE SURE YOU CONSIDDER ALL POSSIBUILITIES (INCLUDING THOSE YOU MAY NOT THINK OF)FIRST BEFORE YOU BLAME.
