I received a telephone call this morn. from a guy that said I contacted them regarding all the telemarketing calls I'm receiving on a daily basis. I remembered I had asked several of them to take me off their list but didn't recall contacting "one company" to stop them all.

He said he was with the Division of Securities out of Washington and that the U. S. Banking Association is one of the companies that they work with. He then said in order to verify the info. he had, he needed my checking account numbers. I told him no. He persisted and said they already had that info. so I said well if you have it you don't need me to give it to you. He said he NEEDED it.

When I refused again, he hung up. BEWARE OF THIS SCAM!!! People are trying to get your bank account info. Don't give it to them no matter what they say. I called CSC Credit Services because I already put a fraud alert on my records to keep my ex-husband from forging my signature to open credit cards and to report this call. This creditor works with Equifax and other credit bureaus. They suggested I change my banking account number, which I FULLY intend to do.
