Double Eagle Promotions - Paul Couture CEO & Owner Rip Off Golf distributorships No Support No Advertising Revenue No Substance Stamford Connecticut
Last year in the local paper I saw an advertisement for a Golf related business opportunity. Double Eagle Promotions is the company, the owner is Paul Couture.
When I inquired about it, I found out that it was a distributorship to place ads on golf carts. Both the newspaper ads and Paul the CEO promised substantial income for the distributors of $ 8,000/mo. or more. The scheme required me to buy a local territory and to pay $ 12,000 for this territory, with an immediate payment of $4,000, and additional payments spread over future periods as the ads were placed.
I signed up, paid $ 4,000 and received a very crude marketing package. I called for more information and found the owner to be rude and uncooperative and just plain difficult to deal with. Latter he called me to ask favor as he wanted me to take some picture of his ads on carts at the local courses in my territory. He promised to reimburse me for my time and expenses, however I never heard from him again, and never received any money.
Because of the poor support, and the lack of any real advertising programs, placing his product is difficult if not impossible. Further the sample signs he used to help sell the concept were ill conceived, and too bulky and everyone I showed them to was turned off because they made their golf carts look too cluttered.
After a year Paul Couture was to refund my money if I had no opportunity to sell ads and make money he has refused. I have talked to other distributors and they had the same promise and have had the same results from this company.
They have not done any advertising that I can determine if you see one of their ads, or if they ask you or your company to place an ad beware!!!!!!!!!
I would welcome legal help to pursue this rip off scheme. The are other distributors out there that will report similar experiences. My next step is the CT., as well as the NC. Attorney Generals Office to pursue a fraud claim.
