Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Last week I installed a new Doughboy ladder (actually called a bridge) in our above ground pool. We had one exactly like it for 25 years, and for no other reason than it looked weathered, we replaced it. It is the best of the best, with a 350' rating.

After 25 years, the new one had the same problem as the old one did upon installation. The heavy wire loop that is part of the safety catch that holds the outer ladder in the UP position, (which must be installed by the customer) is completely useless as is, and must be epoxied into place, or it will not hold the ladder in the up position. It is hard to believe that after all this time, the company has not even attemped to address this problem, and is still putting out the same junk hardware.

The hole where this part is supposed to go also had to be enlarged with a wood chisel to get one of the retainer clips on. Way to go, Doughboy!!!

One problem that the new ladder has, that the old one did not, is that the steps have hard, sharp edges on them, and two of our swimmers have already cut themselves!!!!

So I now get to spend two to three hours deburring this four hundred dollar piece of crap. Have a nice day!!!
