Boulder,#2REBUTTAL Individual responds

The woman says she came to see me for 6 months of treatment for sex addiction. I do NOT work with women sex addicts, therefore I dont even know who wrote this. I may do a 1-2 session interview in
conjunction with other staff to determine the level of a womans treatment needs, but these individuals are always referred to our female staff. My philosophy has always been men need to work with men, and women need to work with women.
I disclose to EVERY client that I am in recovery, the events of my past and my continued recovery. I do this to assure the client that I personally know their struggle and pain and to let them know
there is absolute hope for a way out. After this initial conversation I do not disclose any more about my personal life.
I have been active in my own recovery from sex addiction for 5 years; 26 years sober in AA for alcoholism.
I pleaded guilty misdemeanor and paid the fines associated with the misdemeanor. The media frequently sensationalizes stories as they are unfolding. This is especially true of sexually related
stories.
If any of the allegations written by the media were true, the Licensing Board for the State of Colorado would not permit me to practice.
Neither I, nor the therapists that work with me, have any case records of anyone named Sally.
To provide optimal care for my clients, I place the values of sobriety, integrity, transparency, honesty and ethical behavior in both my personal and professional life.
My main goal is to help people overcome the debilitating effects of sexual compulsivity. In my tenure I have helped over 500 men and couples and my commitment is to aid as many people as I can.
