D&R Paving LLC Took my $800 deposit and never showed up Lake Hopatcong New Jersey
On 8/21/18, I signed a contract with D & R Paving. They were to rip up my two existing driveways and refill with stone, grade for proper drainage and put down black top asphalt. We first had a date of Sept 12 as the day to do all the work, as the owner Dan informed me that it would be best to do all the work at once.
The days before Sept 12 it rained for a few days, we did rescedule. Sept 21 was the rescedule day, they never showed up. He texted later in the day stating that he would come over and rip up my drivways and get the rest of the work done another day. I responded that he said it was best to do everything in one day , so the rocks and fill could be done right.
We again resceduled, on Sept 24 he said he was coming, never did. I texted him on that date at 11:23 am asking where he was. He responded in a few minutes saying they got tied up and will be right over. At 2:34 PM , I again texted him asking where he was. At 4:11 he replied that he would be right over.
I told him NO, that he would never get the job done in one day. He texted me later that day saying to pick any day and he would come by and do the job, mind you after all the delays and not showing up at all, I was quite hesitant believing him. I called him up and decided to cancel the work. Dan went balistic telling me to read the contract, that only he could cancel the job.
He said he ordered the material for my job. I said what is so special about the material for my job that he couldnt use it on another. TOTAL SILENCE. I said whatever material you bought for my job that you would lose, drop it on the side of my house for the $800 deposit, I gave you. He told me to take him to court.
I told him I was a retired Police Officer and have been in and out of court for over 20 years for work. TOTAL SILENCE. I hope people reading this will know that this company is not worth the time or money. I wish I looked him up online before I sighned a contract with him as there are so many complaints on RIP OFF.
