Draxon Solutions Big "win". Received letter saying I had won a Canadian sweepstakes prize of $38,500.21. Truro Nova Scotia
Just hours after report number #295110 on Draxon Solutions was filed at this site, I received a letter in the mail from the same compeny. It said I had won $38,500.21 in the Draxon Wheel of Fortune sweepstakes. All participants are listed in SuperPages.com. Funds are from the proceeds of charitable organizations worldwide. This looked suspicious.
I went to Ripoff Report and there it was. My letter was much the same as the other report, with a couple minor differences. I am to call Debbit Peterson at the Bond Exchange Bureau to purchase a surety bond. A registration form for the bond is enclosed. The letter is signed by Andrew Wyeth, Award Dispatch Manager.
I was already alerted to the scam, but out of curiosity I called that number, plus the number on the letterhead. Both times I got only a scratchy voicemail message asking me to leave my name and number. A compnay name was not given.
There are two checks in the letter. One for the prize money, and one for the cost of the surety bond $1,870.24. The checks are on ADP check forms, payable at Chase Bank in Wilmington, Deleware. The checks contain the proper colors, watermarks, and trademarks. I am getting ready to contact Chase Bank.
I suspected I would be asked to deposit both checks, and then send a personal check for the bond fee along with the bond registration application. Then I would be out that money when the checks proved to be bogus. But that is only a suspicion since I could not reach the people by phone.
