I have an old dell computer (dimension 2350 ) its about seven or eight years old . I have had some problems relating to video / gaming etc . I thought if I could update its internal drivers I could make it last a little longer and work a little better .

I found the web site http://www.paretologic.com/ by running a search for safe driver updates on the web . I clicked on them because they are a sponsored link ( I think yahoo but don't remember ) There site looks very professional and seemed to have the program I was looking for . After paying the $49 .95 I downloaded the product , ran a scan , and it came up with about 21 results of outdated drivers . I then went threw the timely process of downloading and installing each driver ( took about two hours because you have to re boot at each one ) after the last one the drivercure program told me I was finished that there were no more items .

I rebooted my PC and ran the scan again . 18 of the items that it said it had replaced with new drivers showed up on the scan results again . I went threw the process again and got the same results . It would tell me that the new drivers had been installed correctly but upon reboot and re-scan they would re appear . I got kind of frustrated ( starting to feel like I had been ript off ) so I went in to there support area on there web site .

Under there ( mane questions asked ) they had a question from a client that was having the same problem ( the fact that they have this on there site tells me that they have this problem happen allot ) there answer was basically that they find the updated drivers for you and have you unzip them . Then you are linked to the driver manufacturers installation wizard which in my case was Intel . The problem , the manufacturers wizard doesn't work when trying to install the items on my dell computer . Basically / updating your drivers is not a simple procedure and could harm you PC fatally . This program makes it look like the average PC guy can use this thing easily ( that's just not true )

It does state way down in little letters somewhere in the facts that some window knowledge is necessary . I beg to differ .

I feel now that if your drivers are outdated that you probably need a new computer and that the majority of these programs on the wed to update your drivers are probably scams .

I realize that it was me that bought the program , and my ignorance of complicated computer tasks that is part the blame . This will probably not stop them or harm them in any way from ( what I feel is ) deceiving the public ( there's lots of rip offs out there , web related , etc ), but the more people know about scams like these the better .
