Dual Diagnosis drug and alcohol treatment explianed.
It went like this:
Hi,
We are "Recovery Resources Inc" florida treatment center/rehab.
We think every emotion is a mental health problem, caused by a brain chemical imbalance.
This is only our first meeting.
You and your family are desperate to try anything.
Using little information, We are dual diagnosing you as alcoholic/substance abuser and 'crazy.' Here's a prescription for several brain-disabling drugs.
They won't get you "high" these brain-disabling drugs but good luck when you try to stop taking them and then can't sleep and get sick when your tired of life as a zombie and/or the dozens of side effects.
We did this to you without any lab test, brain scan or any procedure known to medical science that you in fact "have" the "illness" implied by our diagnostic labels.
But You're now locked into a life-time diagnosis, needing life-time psychiatric "treatment".
Keep coming back.
Then we (psychiatry as a whole) gets life-time payments: either from you or from your health insurance.
We never get questioned by anyone. And, if the scam is found out, weve got peers and attorneys to cover it up."
"The shame...is on you."
You have now a "Dual diagnosis" and must take psychiatric drugs forever, Have a nice life.
Everyone gets a bogus shink labels at this place ! dual diagnosis explained.

"Although patients, families and the public were not informed - some would argue they were deceived - clinical psychiatrists and researchers have long known about severe adverse drug reactions (ADR) and disabling changes in the central nervous system in a high percentage of patients taking neuroleptic drugs. Foremost among these is "tardive dyskinesia" (TD), an often irreversible, disfiguring disorder of the central nervous system resulting in a variety of involuntary movements, particularly of the tongue, lips, and jaw. muscle movements which affects 40% to 60% of patients taking neuroleptics. Recent research findings corroborate earlier reports (since 1970) linking TD to a deterioration of cognitive functions (see below). "
"Other severe ADRs include: "extrapyramidal symptoms" (EPS), Parkinson-like, impaired motor coordination; sedation; extreme restlessness ("akathesia"); reduced cognitive function;as well as cardiovascular effects, orthostatic hypotension, abnormal liver changes, anticholinergic side effects, sexual dysfunction, and weight gain. Psychotic relapse has been linked to long-term neuroleptic treatment --referred to as, "supersensitivity psychosis." Additionally, there is a one percent risk of "neuroleptic malignant syndrome" (NMS), a potentially fatal side effect."
"But a review of the history of TD demonstrates clearly that despite the evidence physicians' disclosure and practice with respect to neuroleptic drugs has remained unchanged, and TD afflicts ever more patients, especially after long-term exposure-estimates range between 40% to 60%. The APA has opposed written informed consent from patients."

Excessive beer drinking disorder ? Dual diagnosis treatment ? Were you told the risks ?
http://www.psychsearch.net/lawsuits.html
When healthcare professionals are allowed to practice off-label prescribing, tragedies are inevitable. There are very serious risks associated with Seroquel, including diabetes mellitus (commonly referred to as Type 2 Diabetes or Adult Onset Diabetes), tardive dyskinesia, pancreatitis and liver disease. There are hundreds of adolescents and 1000s of adults prescribed Seroquel whose lives were cut short or who must now live with serious and often permanent health complications !
"Oceanside Treament Center" Juno Beach Florida. Threw me out for refusing seroquel in the morning as a lesson to the others on "medication compliance" !
"Dual diagnosis" Go from "excessive beer drinking disorder" to life long mental patient by taking psychiatric drugs and destroying my health ?
No Thanks !
It is the branding of a "disease" and it is the branding of a drug and "treatments" of a disease (beer drinking disorder-disease) that did not exist before the industry made the disease.

Multiple diseases often co-exist in a single client. Co-existing disorders, commonly termed Dual Diagnosis, can be identified during the evaluation process.
Disease mongering is a term for the practice of widening the diagnostic boundaries of illnesses, and promoting public awareness of such, in order to expand the markets for those who sell and deliver treatments, which may include pharmaceutical companies, physicians, and other professional or consumer organizations.
