Greetings "Mr. Anderson", And indeed I was in fact given a VIN and a delivery date so I do and did have a valid complaint. I agree with you that it was not at all nice that that I had to wait. The fact is that I did deal with the wait and dealt with it very well actually. I gave EARL STEWART TOYOTA three weeks to come through with a replacement vehicle. I'd say that's patience enough, wouldn't you? Especially after knowing that they sold the vehicle we made a deal on which they were still holding my deposit on to a higher payer. And you say, "did they sell that truck to get a higher price? Maybe so, but they still owned that truck until you should take delivery, which you never did. It was still their property to sell as they saw fit, so you are out of luck." This I fully disagree with you on. Once a deposit is paid on an item of purchase for a agreed upon and written up price (and in your words "a VIN and a delivery date" has been provided), that item is in fact as good as to be MARKED AS SOLD. And as far as being entitled to THE vehicle as described in my sales contract . . . After waiting three weeks I expected just that and what was I told instead - that I'd have to accept LESS - one WITHOUT A BEDLINER in fact. So the better call for this situation and EARL STEWART TOYOTA is "the deal was done . . . AND DONE VERY WRONG" . . . So STAY AWAY I say . . . STAY AWAY FROM EARL STEWART TOYOTA !!!

Nothing less, and nothing more. The delay is unfortunate, but unless your contract specified a VIN and a delivery date you have no complaint. Is it nice that you have had to wait? No. Did they sell that truck to get a higher price? Maybe so, but they still owned that truck until you should take delivery, which you never did. It was still their property to sell as they saw fit, so you are out of luck. Next time, do what I do- order an odd vehicle that most people will not order- a vehicle with an expensive and useful (to me) option in that vehicle that most people are too "price concious" to buy. I suggest you go with "the deal was off" option.
