This company approved a credit card order by phone against my credit card. they did NOT even attempt to verify the info. They did not have my name or address or exp date. I did, unaware of their motive, give them this info (NOT EXP. DATE) at a later time so they could cover themselves. They know they did it, admitted they did it, but would not credit my card.

I worked for Eastbay for over 3 years, and I can assure anyone they are a legitimate buisness. Clearly someone stole the credit card information and used it to place an order. However, Eastbay and it's owner, Foot Locker, have taken a turn for the worse. They have chosen speed over customer service, resulting in poor customer relations as well as fraud prevention. In my day, I would have been happy to offer the soulution to this problem: Contact your credit card provider and local police. The lost money could have easily been returned and perhaps the real thief would have been caught. Unfortunatly, this advice is in managment's eye a "waste of time" as it seems far more profitable to blow off the problem customers as much as possible while spending more time with the "new money"

I was reading a comment on this site about another company when I decided to search for my employer. I have worked at Eastbay for almost 2 years, in the Green Bay Office. We are a catalog order company. The largest of our kind. We are owned by Foot Locker, Inc. First, I would like to comment and say that it is not possible to bill a person's credit card without their billing address and experation date. Our credit department can aprove a credit card without the correct billing address if they speak with the customer and they verify the information. We cannot even place an order without a name and address. Second, I have worked in Customer Service for 6 years and I am a supervisor at Eastbay. We give our customers more benefit of doubt than any company I have ever worked for, we go out of our way to satisfy all of our customers. The comment posted seems completely ungrounded. If that person would like they can call us and attempt to tell their story. Go to
