Editor’s CommentRipoff Report believes in transparency and the more information the better.  In this instance, there has been court action regarding this subject Report.  We believe it important to note that not all Court Orders are alike.  Many court orders are absolutely legitimate and we make no representations about this court order situationHowever, we want our users to be aware thatsometimes courts enter orders based upon default which typically means that the defendant didn’t show up.  Sometimes a defendant won’t show up because they didn’t even get notice of the case proceedings in the first place and other times defendants may not show up because they don’t necessarily have the knowledge and/or the financial resources to fight.  Still, in other instances, a defendant may simply appear only to stipulate (settle) the case by agreeing to stipulate to a court order because they are being bullied by the plaintiff and whether what they said was true or not, they just want the matter to go away so they can move on with life and make the plaintiff go away.  Again, we make no representations about this particular court order situation.  We are simply providing you with additional information so that you may be more informed and, coupled with any additional research you feel is necessary, may make your own informed decision regarding the validity of this Report.  As always, we encourage our readers to do their homework and not just rely on one single source for information.  Google, through the Lumen Database, has provided the following document relating to this subject Report:

First, when I was asked to an interview, the owner called and said he was an employee in charge of calling applicants for interviews. It was the owner. When I was in the interview, I could tell it was the owner's voice that I had talked to the day before. He wanted an artist because the one he had couldn't get along with his dumb a$$. He asked me to draw for him. Fine. So I did. He wanted me to create a beach sorority T-Shirt but I couldn't draw people in it. In other words he wanted me to re-create on paper bland Jimmy Buffet clip art. I drew for that moron for nearly three hours and still the moron wanted more. He finally hired me then wanted me to work in every department in the shop even though I was hired for the position of artist. He had me in a training session for his T-shirt pricing ritual with one of the most spiteful and two-faced person I'd ever met. Even though there was no problem with my training she reported that I wasn't getting it. It wasn't my job in the first place and really I did understand it. Therefore the very next day Mr. Shoemaker put me through a second interview after the fact that I was hired to torture me futher with his desire to have me re-create clip-art for the fool. I was angry about this. Who wouldn't be. The employer was being unreasonable and when I showed the signs of frustration toward this he said I was fired and I had to clock out. This person needs to stop torturing applicants and lying to his employees about everything under the sun. His employees despise him and count the lies they hear everyday. And he treats local artist he hires on a freelance basis like they are garbage over the phone. He said he used to be a waiter but decided it wasn't the job for him because no one was interested in his opinion. Your opinion doesn't matter if your a g@%&%#$ waiter. The company name is stupid as well: Eat Mo Tees. That's a phrase associated with ruining a product. Chris Columbia, South Carolina

ok, so that everyone in reality knows:  Kevin mentioned that he has some employees that worked for him for a decade... complete and total lie.  One guy i know that worked longer for him than anyone was a nice guy but a serious addict.  He came to work high and drunk to pay for his addiction.  He always smelled of beer.  I hate talking about this guy like he is a low life (because he isnt just has trouble) but I was truly worried for him, esp when i gave him a few rides home because his moped wouldnt operate, and saw how terrible his living conditions were.... so kevin if you are bragging about having a stable work environment then you must of started smoking crack with mike...  Kevin you knew he was drunk and high all those time but never said a thing.... all you care about is getting those stupid tee shirts made and out the door on time.  Get this Kevin you are a grown man doing what kids in college do... grow up

what i jerk... what a creep... kevin, i will talk to you as your parents should have many years ago..  You are a disgusting person who cannot admit when they did something wrong.  You blame others for your stupidity and you manage to look at yourself in the mirror with this glaring imperialistic perception.  I generally expect people to become better as individuals as they get older, except for scum like you Kevin "S&^"-maker... however i am honestly surprised how i can be wrong sometimes... where it may take the average person a few minutes to apologize for something, here it took you over 4 "F"-ing years!!!  Do columbia south carolina a favor kevin.. move to texas.

An apology

lChris,
I am sorry you felt your experience with us was so bad.  Although I do not agree with most of what you have implied, I realize there must have been a better way to handle your transition out of the business.
I wish i could have found a better way.

While I am writing, I would like to explain a few actions you claim to be torturous.
As I recall, when you were hired, you were placed in a training program to make you aware of all areas of the business.  We have learned that artists who understand the printing process and order taking do a much better job producing art the way the company needs it to be completed.  t-shirt art is just not the same as sketching something on paper and it's done.  It's more complicated.  that is why you were introduced to several different areas of the business.

On Wednesday and Thursday of your first week, the employee that was your trainer had several concerns about your performance.  She suggested you did not have the specific skills we needed.  So, on Friday, your 5th day of employment, I asked you to come see me.  I did not wish to terminate you based solely on her observations.  I had not gotten to see you perform for myself yet.   I wanted to verify what she said.  I did not believe it would be right to let you go without making a conclusion first hand.  you imply I was torturing you, but how would you have done this?  Would you have just fired a new employee based on another employee's recommendation, or would you have tried to give the new employee one last chance?  So, as I was trying to give you a chance to prove her allegations incorrect, you began showing hostility to me.  In my situation, would you keep that person with your company?  Probably not.

You mention you are successful as an artist now.  I'm sure you are.  Eat more Tees was not the right fit for you.  It doesn't make you bad or Eat More Tees bad.  Sometimes things just don't work out.  Some people have been here for over a decade, some just a couple of years.  what works for someone today doesn't always fit their lives later. Thankfully for both of us, I realized in your first week that our relationship was not the right fit.  It helped both of us move on quickly.  You quickly found the right career for you.

Regarding pay.  No one gets paid the first Friday they work.  The hours have to be sent to the payroll service on Monday and then checks are issued the following Friday.  Implying you needed the police to get paid was not really accurate.  If you felt I was holding back your pay, I apologize, but I was not.

What is unfortunate is that this incedent occurred 7 years ago.  I had only a few hours of interaction with you and you made some very serious accusations about me from our brief business relationship.  I wish things had worked out differently.  I wish you had understood then that I was trying to help you keep your job.  Maybe you wouldn't have left screaming and shouting.  Maybe you would not have written this report that can never be erased.

Chris, if you still live in Columbia, please feel free to call me to talk about this issue so you can understand that I am not the tyrant you have painted me out to be.  I help employees with personal problems.  I coach children in soccer and basketball.  I am involved in charitable work.  I help out the schools where my children attend. I have three children who will read this slanderous report in a few years.   A report I consider extremely exaggerated and unfair.  I hope you would rethink these damaging statements.  I hope to hear from you.

Really, I just wanted the money he owed me and it was only when the police arrived that he paid up. But that's all in the past and he needs a new artist again. I wish him peace, less sadistic impulses and luck but beware all artists. This guy does not know what it takes to create or how to deal with creative people. He is very unreasonable and has a sadistic nature and enjoys trying to humiliate people. Very bad work environment indeed.

Well that's interesting. Since then I'm a success as an artist and graduate of a very good university. The problem I had with this guy is that he expected someone to learn the company in a week from printing and cross-referenced insane pricing guides and also stand over someone's shoulder to dish out a vague palm tree in seconds??? His employees are not happy and no one trained me let's make that clear. I was told by the people I met in his shop that he is evil and that I should be thankful that I left. I was only angry by his humiliating tactics and aggressively evil nature. This company needs a better person representing them. I would advise all artists to stay away from this place. It will only give you a headache dealing with someone that has no idea how to draw or what it takes for an artist to create in a work place. Really a very rotten person and company looking for someone else to torture.

I remember Chris well. He worked for one week and was not able to perform the job as well as we expected. When he was let go, he yelled at and threatened me, twice coming right up to my face and once hitting a wall with his hands. Several of my employees were frightened by his outburst while leaving - Chris had obviously lost control. Due to his threats to return, I was forced to call the police. Chris returned about 30 minutes later to confront me again but was told by the police he could not reenter the building. Chris then tried to press charges against me for upsetting him by firing him. THe police officer explained to Chris that firing someone was not against the law and most people were upset when it happened. That was the last time I heard from Chris. The artist that helped train Chris and the artist that replaced Chris are both still happy and working with me 4 years later.
