On July 29th, 2012, a "buyer" cw9private on Ebay won 3 games from me in a 7 day auction. On July 30th, I received a message from the buyer: I am so sorry but I forgot that I had purchased this and then I thought I got outbidded on top of that I don't understand exactly what had happened with that , I've been seeing some wierd things happen on ebay lately , But overall I do not want nor need this , So can you please cancel this out and just re-list it , Thank You

Ok, that's fine. I'm a nice guy and give people 2nd and sometimes 3rd chances. I told the buyer: I sent you an updated invoice after removing Tron. I will just re-list that game tonight. Thanks

No problems, buyer still paid for the other 2 games, right? Then this message: I am writting you this email due to the fact that I would prefer if You can just Issue me a Refund , instead of starting the shipping process with this game ! , I did'nt realize how graffic this game Is and It is not suitable for my 7 nor 8 yr. old !!! , So please Issue the refund and then We can just cancel this out !!! , Thankx

My response to that: I'm sorry, I worked with you on the Tron game, but I'm holding you responsible for your purchase of this game and The Sims 3.The games will ship first thing tomorrow morning. Thanks

Ebay is a legally binding contract, whether users want to believe it or not. Also, I gave the buyer an "out" on Tron, I have no obligation to continue to do favors for folks who can't read or try and treat an online business like Wal*Mart. Both games were shipped to the buyer as normal, and the buyer immediately messaged me: Well thats not cool , wow , The tron game was not really my fault and I never said A refund on the sims - just the Modern Warfare game , I want the Sims , and I checked with Ebay and they are the ones who Adviced me to contact the seller and request the refund due to the situation and circumstances , So , ? , Well if you don't refund it then I guess I will just be doing a REturn then !!! , How nice is that ! :)

I tried to set the buyer straight, it is not the inmates who run the asylum, and whomever coined the phrase "the customer is always right" was obviously always a customer. What's not cool are idiots who don't research what they're buying for their children, and who make Ebay "not cool" for everyone else. Feel free to do a return once you receive the game. However, since the game has been tested and I can verify it works, I will refuse the return.

This is America, and I can pretty much say what I'd like. There was never any profanity or threats from me. Unfortunately the situation escalated, and the buyer opened a Customer Support case. When all was said and done, eBay has decided to refund the buyer. You are not required to reimburse the buyer or eBay, and this case will not be counted in your seller performance evaluation which is great. Unfortunately, Paypal said: eBay decided in favor of the buyer in a dispute filed with the eBay Resolution Center. Because you didn't have enough money in your account to cover the refund, eBay issued the refund on your behalf. Please reimburse eBay now for the refund.

So which is it? It's common knowledge that Ebay owns Paypal and uses that as a tool to further monopolize their stronghold on the online auction community.

In summary, I feel ripped off by Ebay because I was forced to choose a return policy (14 days to return if the item doesn't work) or lose my hard earned status as a Powerseller. I feel ripped off by Paypal because they raped me out of the the money for the game when there was nothing wrong with the game and therefore didn't qualify for the return policy. Finally, I feel ripped off by the buyer because he/she proved that when you b*tch and cry and moan enough, you get your way.

In closing, Ebay/Paypal doesn't give a s**t about their sellers. All they care about is the almighty U.S. Dollar and give little regard to who they have to screw to get it. I have stopped listing on Ebay after 12 years with a near flawless record (some buyers can be crazy b*tches!) and I'm trying out Amazon.
