Educational Testing Service ripped me off. Princeton New Jersey
ETS is more of a disservice than a service. I feel that I was ripped off because I paid over one hundred dollars u.s. to take a required standardized test last November(2003). It is almost one year later,(October 2004) and I still have not received the results by mail or any explanation as to scores or even how the test was graded. I wrote to ETS, but they aren't going to respond and they probably tossed it into the garbage before they even read it. I think this service does not care about individuals or their future, they get their money and thats it because they know that people have no choice but to take the tests (& can't go elsewhere). This is a service that I can expect will be too busy if they want to use that excuse.
However I don't understand why more tests from other countries are contracted out to them if they don't even have time to make sure test results in the u.s. are mailed out. I am not certified to teach solely because of this standardized test that and I waited for months, which really stood in my way and still does. I also don't like their toll free number which is supposed to be convenient, yet all I get is "this call can not be completed from your dialing area." So I am left with 4 years of seemingly wasted university and no employment minus $120 u.s.(the way they treat me its like I didn't even take the test at all!).
All they needed to do was put a 33 cent stamp and mail out the results or at least give me a way to know what is going on. I feel that their website is unhelpful. Also the test that I took, there were 3 test takers and the test started 10 minutes late because the administrator was unfamiliar with the test. I just feel like I deserve a little more respect. The bottom line is I feel like I deserved more than this out of a service that so many people depend on.
