Eharmony ripoff Didn't come close to meeting anyone! Pasadena California
I joined eHarmony for a three month period. During this three months I didn't come close to meeting anyone. Several were 10 to 15 years older living in different parts of the country. I did end up communicating with two people, but never got to meet anyone. They lived about 50 miles from me. When I complained they gave me a free month, but no new matches.
I again signed up after they told me I needed to change my settings to meet people in my area (within 25 miles). It did make a little difference as one of the matches lived about 25 miles away. They started sending me matches as soon as I had signed up, before I had paid. By the time I paid after getting reassurance from the support group, all of the matches had put me on hold or closed communications altogether. I did communicate with one fellow that felt we weren't compatible. He was the only one that I had any communications with the 2nd three months. Again when I complained and was given an extra "free" month, but no new matches.
I am going to contact the media in my area to see if they will do a story on eHarmony so others don't get taken in by their advertising. I will also send a report to the BBB in Pasedena, CA where they are located.
