Complaint Review: Eli Samoocha Steals Money - הורשע עו - Givatayeem Select State/Province

Eli Samocha ( עו ד אלי סמוכה ) & Sons Aviv Samoocha ( עו ד אביב סמוכה ) Steals from Holocaust Survivor - Scam Lawyers

My mother is a holocaust victim and survivor.  The German Government pays her a monthly stipend and 2 years ago settled out of court for 1.5 million euros ($2,044,335.00 USD) for property taken from her family during world war 2.  My mom is now 95 years old.

We hired the law offices of Eli Samoocha ( עו ד אלי סמוכה ) and his sons Yuval Samocha ( יובל סמוכה  ) and Aviv Samoocha ( אביב סמוכה ) to handle the litigation and receive the payment.  We paid a total of $38,520 to the lawyers to handle our case before it was closed.  The money from the German Gov was received in March 2012 by Eli Samoocha, however til this day, we have not seen one penny.   

My sister and I traveled to Israel in May 2012 and visited the law offices of Eli Samocha in Givatayeem.  He has no secretary and to be quite honest, his office looked like an old shack.  We were served coffee in paper cups while Eli Samocha and his sons Aviv and Yuval explained to us that the money still had not arrived and to be patient.  Eli showed us pictures of him with billionaire Arkadi Gaidmak and other pics of him bicylce riding and said he was in politics for over 25 years as the head of his local community.  He said we could trust him and that the money would come soon.

We contacted the German authorites (my sister and I speak German at mother tongue) from the Hilton Holel in Tel Aviv to ask why the money was not transferred.  We were told it was transferred and subsequently received proof from the German authorities that the money was transferred to "Bank Leumi" located in a city 10 minutes east of Tel Aviv called Ramat Gan.  The money was not transferred to the law office, or to a trust account, rather directly to Eli Samoocha's private account under his own name. 

We later contacted Eli Samoocha and confronted him with a copy of the payment transfer. His initial reaction was "This must have been a mistake", and asked for a couple of days to check.  We extended our trip in Israel for another week - only Eli Samoocha and his sons disappeared.

Finally when we answered the phone, he said "I'm really sorry but my ex-wife took the money from the account.  I'm working on getting it back".  We returned to the states, and weeks turned into months, and one lie followed another lie.  Finally we filed a report with local US authorities and we're told to fly to Germany and Israel to file complaints there as well. 

My sister and I flew to Germany and to Israel again in April 2014 to file criminal charges against Eli Samoocha and his sons for the fraud.  Turns out the German authorties informed us that Eli Samoocha and his sons Yival and Aviv are no longer allowed to represent holocaust victims because of tons of similar complaints, and the police inspector of Berlin told us that he'd be arrested on the spot if he visits Germany.  We later filed similar charges in Israel and are waiting for results.

You would think that this Israeli scam lawyer has some sort of heart, but turns out he's nothing more than a scam artist with a law license.
