I hired Elite Auto Carriers & Logistics LLC / Reliable Move to transport my vehicle from Ocean City, MD to Florida. I made the reservation on December 28th for pick-up on January 15th. On January 12th I called to make sure everything was on track. I was told by Thomas James (347) 382-9998 that everything was fine & the driver would call me the day before. On January 14th, I called them because the driver did not call. I left 4 voice messages for the driver to give me a call with a time window for pick up. I received no response. On January 15th, day of pick-up, I left 8 voice messages with Thomas James, 4 voice message with Mike Roberts (a supposed dispatcher), and 2 emails. I received a call in the evening from Mike Roberts telling me that their driver did not want to drive to Ocean City and asked me to drive 3 hours to either Baltimore or Virginia Beach. I said no. They refused to return my deposit. They told me that they could hold me up for 14 more days unless I backed out of their contract. I am out $175 deposit, $60 for a rental car and $100 airline ticket. I ended up hiring a private driver to drive my vehicle to Florida and I flew him back. It cost me $100 less than the auto transport quote with a lot less headaches! This is, apparently, a huge scam that is not uncommon among auto transport guys. I'm hearing nightmare stories from others that trusted these guys. You're better off taking the auto train, driving, or hiring a private driver.
