Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I ordered a black Friday special from QVC. My experience with Ellis is just like everyone else's -- good luck getting your order delivered. I am a teacher and could be home by 3 pm Monday, Tuesday, or Friday. On the Friday I was to get my order delivered. I was just leaving school when I saw they had called at 10:30 in the morning and left a message to arrange delivery for Wednesday. They were not coming Friday as discussed because I had not called back to reconfirm. (What is a reconfirm -- an agreed time and day is an agreed time and day). I explained again that Wednesday and Thursday are the two days I cannot get home until 6 pm. Yes, they saw that in their notes, but Wednesday is the day they could deliver. (What happened to Friday?). The response was that they could just send the mattress set back to QVC. Wait a minute. Do they get paid anyway if they "cannot deliver"? Now, like everyone else, a very expensive mattress is being held hostage in their storage facility (under what conditions). When I asked them how many days, weeks, or months it might take for a Monday, Tuesday, or Friday delivery, the girl from Ellis told me I was hollering at her and hung up on me. I called back to ask that a supervisor call me. My phone number is now blocked and I cannot even contact them. QVC told me that I would be refunded if Ellis returned the mattress and there would be no charge. My next question is why does any retailer do business with these people? I will be filing a complaint with the BBC if my mattress is not delivered within 5 more business days (that gives them three more Monday, Tuesday, Friday opportunities). From what I have read here, Ellis Moving and Storage does not care. The BBB and the FTC (since they do operate in conjunction with companies doing business on the net and across state lines) may or may not be able to make them behave. Perhaps the State Attorney General and trucking licenses can do something about them. I am about to find out what can be done! I am sending the manager of QVC all of the items posted on this site with the suggestion that they begin doing business with another company! This is ridiculous!

After review of this specific order, please see the following details and response: We attempted to schedule delivery on a Friday, initially, but unfortunately did not receive confirmation as required and requested in our voicemail and therefore it was not put on the schedule. The scheduling department offered our next available date, which unfortunately was a day that the consumer could not accept. We understand that there were specific days during the week that were indicated as non-preferred days, however we still offer the soonest available date for our customers so that if anything changes we can deliver sooner rather than later.

The consumer was very loud on the phone with our scheduling department when a date other than requested was offered and began yelling at the scheduling rep when the representative asked the consumer to calm down and to please stop yelling or they would need to get off of the phone. When that did not work and the consumer continued to raise her voice with the representative and become irate, the representative told the consumer that she would be getting off of the phone at that time and they would try discussing again after the consumer had calmed down.

In regards to “blocking their number”, noone in our office is able to do that, and in fact spoke to the consumer today regarding their delivery (she called into the office and spoke with us). While speaking with consumer today, another specific date was requested, which we do have availability for and will be able to accommodate.

We cannot accommodate every single customers first choice for dates though always try to deliver as quickly as is possible after receiving their orders. We do over 100 deliveries a day all over Tennessee and Kentucky, and we do not have an agreement in place with any of our accounts that agree to a single day delivery window and in no way suggest that we would guarantee any specific day request. We offer the first available date that we will be in a consumers area and if that does not work for the consumer than we offer the next available date we are in their area. If a consumer does request a specific date, we always check to see if there is availability in their area for that day, but again, cannot guarantee that day; when it isn’t available we offer the next soonest date.
