Good dental work, but horrible billing! They were NOT honest that my Aetna Vital Savings plan would not be accepted, and somehow they assumed that I had Aetna insurance. I am a graduate student, so I cannot afford Aetna insurance and told that to them clearly. They also gave me a dentist out-of-the-network, Melissa Baleno, and not Julian Kahn who I did not even know was not accepting new patients under Aetna Vital Savings plan. I am overcharged by hundreds of dollars, and I cannot believe that I paid $575 for deep cleaning, periodontal deep scaling! I was overchaged by about $280. I would NOT have gone to this dental practice if I knew that they wouldn't accept my dental savings plan. The front desk workers are incompetent, and they did not tell me after entering my dental plan card into their system.

The office DID not tell me that Dr. Julian Kahn was not accepting new patients, otherwise I would have gone to another dental practice. They also did not tell me that Dr. Melissa Baleno was going to be the dentist. They simply said that Aetna was accepted. What is your relation to Elmwood Dental Group?

It is ALWAYS the responsibility of a patient to confirm coverage and how much. The office is NOT responsible for that in any way whatsoever. Had you done your home work PRIOR to getting the work done, you would have known coverage and then went somewhere else.
