My son has this credit card and I am trying to help him by making the payments on the internet.

1. There is no way to access account information

2. This is the only credit card company I have ever dealt with that charges to make your payments over the internet. ($4.95 per payment)

3. They have a pop up calendar to schedule payments, but it does not work. It forces you to make payments on the current day.

4. I emailed them to ask why I cannot access account information, or schedule a payment, stating that their pop up calendar to schedule payments does not work.

5. They sent me the following email.

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your recent e-mail.

In order to assist you, we will need additional information.

Please reply to this email with:

-Your name as it appears on your credit card or statement,

-The last four digits of your social security number,

-The last four digits of your account number,

-Your date of birth,

-Your zip code, and

-Your home and business telephone numbers along, with your concern or question.

A Cardholder Service Representative will respond to you promptly. If additional identification information is necessary to complete your request, the Cardholder Service Representative will provide you with instructions for supplying that information. Although our application is secure, we recommend that you not send sensitive personal identification information, such as your full social security number and complete account number, via email.

I really like the sentence where they recommend that I not send sensitive personal identification information via email when in fact they ask for it. Why they need this information to answer the questions I asked is ridiculous and unnecessary, since I am not asking about any specific account information.

I am paying off this account as soon as possible. I recommend anyone wanting/needing to open a credit card account should use anyone other than Emerge. This is the worst credit card company I have ever dealt with.
