A sales rep entered my office and offered me credit card terminal from Encore Payment Systems. All the rep talks about is the terminal and how much more it can do for your business....gift cards, check reader, etc.. Skeptical, as any good business owner is of all the sales reps that call or come by, this rep informed me that if I was unhappy with the it, I could cancel within 2 months, with no penalty. So, why not at least try it, right? Maybe it would do all the things this sales rep said it would?

On the date of installation, one week after the sale, the representative returned to my office. He was installing the machine and a lady from Encore called and notified me that my account was not cancellable. Since this contradicted what the salesman told me a week earlier, I placed her on hold, turned the sales rep. and asked, "Hey, the lady on the phone says my account is not cancellable. This contradicts what you told me last week. Care to clarify?" His answer was, "No, your account IS cancellable, just not after 2 months!!" So, I continued on with the installation since the sales rep. clarified.

So, at the 2 month period, I get my secretary to call and cancel my account and they tell her they can cancel the processing, but NOT the lease of the machine. (I was unaware of it being TWO separate leases/agreements; hence you can see by me asking the sales rep to clarify. And you can clearly see his deception for he should have recognized my confusion of the contradiction between him and lady from Encore.) I asked my secretary to call them back to tell them that the sales rep confirmed that I could cancel on the date of installation. The lady at encore told my secretary, "We are not responsible for what our salesperson told you, they are an independent contractor. Have your doctor read his lease next time."

The problem is, I shouldn't have to read the lease when I have a representative in my office, who REPRESENTS the company of the products in which he is selling. I should be able to expect him to represent any products in an honest, ethical way. If your product is ethical, needed, properly priced, etc... you need not take these tactics in order to make a sell. Your products will sell on their own. Also, since he is aware of the products he is selling, he should have clearly seen my confusion by my questions during installation.........and during the sell one week earlier.

This is a classic case of strong recruitment, hard salesman tactics, that dominate and represent an evil segment of the commission based pay industry. The more you sell, ever how fraudulently, the more you are paid. Sell, sell, sell.

This company is NOTHING but a scam! I am out 3000 dollars for a 1000 dollar machine and counting because of this STUPID company that fraudulently sells leases by telling you that you can cancel, but then saying they are not responsible for what the IC tells you.
