I just received a bill for $14.95 through Enhanced Services Billing, Inc. for a technical assistance call to Traveller Information Services. I don't use that service, and the billing is false.

I called SBC SNET (local company) and told them about the billing. They said to handle it with them because they are required by the FCC and Department of Public Utility Control to accept ANY billing from other services regardless of whether it is true billing or not. It shows who is protecting their customers. I called (888) 299-3724 to reach ESB and was on a hold recording without any hope of talking to anyone.

Why would I use Traveller Information Service anyway when much of the information they provide is for free online.

Update on 6/27/2005: The matter is settled. Update 6/24/2005 for Enhanced Services Billing ripoff Fake Billing for Traveller Information Services Nationwide

On 6/24/2005. I called the company to have the charges removed. I was told that they are removing the charges, and that it will take one month before the refund appears on the phone bill. I asked for something in writing to this effect. At this stage, I am waiting.
