Angela: Hi, my name is Angela. How may I help you?

John Doe: Hi, I use Lastpass Premium Credit Monitoring which allows me to see my current credit scores across all three credit company's. I have a 775 with Trans Union, a 740 with Equifax, and only a 702 with Equifax (which is a "fair").  I don't understand the reason for the low score at Equifax and was wondering if you can help?

John Doe: Sure, no problem

Angela: Businesses utilize different scoring systems based on the system they believe best fits their needs.  That means the various lenders you do business with could use different scoring systems which may mean that the respective scores may not be identical.

John Doe: Yeah I'd not expect them to be identical, but I would think they should be close.  I'm looking at my account history many of my loans I've been paying on don't show any data at Equifax.

Angela: Not all creditors report to all three consumer reporting agencies. There are some creditors that report to only one of the three consumer reporting agencies or, perhaps, do not report to any consumer reporting agencies. Check with your creditor(s) to find out if they report to all three consumer reporting agencies.

Angela: You can speak with your lender to see why the information does not appear on your Equifax Credit Report.

John Doe: I can do that, but just wondering if you see anything I can do to improve my credit or tell me why it is only "fair"?

John Doe: ie.... can you look at my account?

Angela: Have you obtained your credit report and score directly from Equifax?

John Doe: because I have looked at all the reasons and don't understand why.   Yes, I received a free credit report and score and don't see any reason why it should be low.

Angela: What city and state are you located in?

John Doe: Caledonia, IL

Angela: Did you obtain your free Equifax Credit Report online within the last 30 days?

John Doe: I think it was longer than 30 days, maybe 50 days?  I can see it live using Lastpass.

Angela: You would need to obtain your report directly from Equifax through  http://www.Equifax.com, or  http://www.annualcreditreport.com.

Angela: Unfortunately, I cannot view a report through another company.

John Doe: I should not have any negative credit reports and I believe my debt/income ratio should be good too.  I'm baffled.
