etagsdirect Tag Renewal scam internet Internet
I was looking for a way to pay for my auto tag renewal online. I came across a site that looked like it was officially related to the DMV, Department of motor vehicles. Upon checkout I noticed 2 total of $28.85, my card was charged shortly after the amount of $119.45. I placed the order at 5pm. I called first thing in the morning, at 9am to cancel based on being charged a different amount. The company hours are 9am to 5pm EST. I was told I was being charged a convenience fee, service fee, agency fee. All unnecessary charges. They also stated that the order had already been processed and it was too late to cancel. I will be filing a dispute with my credit card company.
