Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I was contacted on my job in the first week of May , 2004 by someone named "Jack" stating that he was with Everest Consumer Services. He said he was calling to approve my credit card and would I like that in a Visa or Mastercard? I told him that I had not applied for any credit cards and asked what he was talking about. He said that if I had applied for credit within the past year and was denied then they are promtped to review my credit standing every 3 mos.

This time it showed that I was eligible for credit approval. He explained that the card would have no anual fee and minimal montly finance charges. He then explained that they would deduct the $299.00 from my checking account and within 2-3 weeks I should receive my card. He asked for my bank account # aund I told him that I wasn't comfortable with giving that kind of information over the phone.

He said, "Ma'am, do you not realize that everytime you write a check and give it to a store clerk that you are handing them your account #?" I said, ok, you got me there." Then I proceded , like an idiot, to give him my information. The money was withdrawn on 5/28/04 and within 3 weeks when I had not received my card I called to inquire and was told that it had been released for mailout on 6/11/04 it should arrive any day. The following Friday I called again and was told that it is a standard 4-6 weeks delivery.

I informed "Ruth" that I had been told any day now and that they should have a meting to all get on the same page and she instructed me that "she" was telling the truth. Yeah right!!! I called back after arguing with her and spoke with "Jay" and he reassured me that they have had no complaints against this company and that I should receive my card in 4-6 weeks. He said that they were just the Customer Care Center for this company. He was very apologetic for how things had been handled. On July 8th I called back to let them know that the next day would be the end of the 6 weeks and I hadn't received my card as of yet. "Ruth" said that since we had a holiday on July 4th that I should wait until the next week.

When I called back on 7/13/04 I was told that the 4-6 week period actually stared on 6/11/04. That would mean that I should wait until 7/23/04. Upon inquiring about the card on 8/2/04 after returning from out of town(7 weeks and 3 days at this point) I was told they could send me a new package(7-10 business days) or issue a refund(30 business days).

I opted for the package reissue after "Ruth" and I had several words about her horrible customer service upon which she instructed me that she didn't care what I said about her. After returning to my desk and finally realizing that I had been swindled, I "Googled" the company and that is what brought me to the Rip-Off report and final knowledge that I am an idiot along with alot of other trusting people.
