There is definitely questionable operations with the Denver, CO highway E-470 toll collections. I just received the first ever letter from E-470 and it is for three $3.45 tolls from ten months ago when I was visiting Denver with my Michigan-registered vehicle. They are demanding $99.15! It includes late payments and $50.00 in penalties.
When I called the E-470 phone line, the call center agent told me they had mailed me NINE letters. She blamed the U.S. Postal Service for not delivering them to me!
I had not read the Rip-off reports prior to making the call. I asked her if other people had called with the same complaint - never receiving any timely billing - and she said it happened only when their addresses were incorrectly provided by the out-of-state DMV offices. Well, according to her, they had my correct address and had mailed me NINE letters - ridiculous - I've only received this one.
She then got her supervisor to reduce the $50 penalties - I told her that was insufficient as I should not have to pay any late payment fees, either. She told me that's all they were willing to do.

These freeways are owned by the French. Throw the tickets away or return to sender. The do not have your ss# and they are not reported to the state. It's a joke. Will you pay? I never have and never will.
