Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I have found that the only SAFE way to make payments to Fairbanks is via a Western Union Quick Collect. I have sent payments to them via check that they've lost, and even overnight packages that the actually SIGNED for turned up missing. But, do a Western Union and it goes immediately into your account.

To do this, go to any business that uses Western Union (grocery stores, drug stores, etc.). Fill out the Western Union Quick Collect form with your name, address etc. Make the payment payable to the Loan Servicing Center, Reference Number (your loan number), Code City OSWALD and Code State UT. Bring cash.

It'll cost you $12 or so, but it's worth the money. Check your account the next day via the web at and verify that the payment went INTO YOUR ACCOUNT. If not, call them and raise hell.

I hate to say this but Fairbanks lost 3 of my Western Union Payments. I had to contact the Div. of Banks before Fairbanks would credit me for that amount. But I bet you they did not take off the late fees. I really think that there has to be some other way to make sure that the post our payments. Like a third party.

John, Yes, it is ridiculous for Fairbank's borrowers to have to do this "dance" to make a mortgage payment. If you will search these reports, however, you will find that there is NO ONE on the planet that Fairbanks has NOT been reported TO! Government agencies, news agencies... You name it! Not everyone can afford to take one or two days off work every month to file and deal with lawsuits. There are many suits already against this company all over the country. This is a sorry company that has refined the art of "customer abuse". Fairbanks needs to be brought down...HARD!!!

Obviously, you haven't dealt with these morons

My suggestion was a way to guarantee payment. Certified mail does not work. They just say they lost the check, charge you late fees, initiate foreclosure, etc. You do not want to mess with these idiots. As for me, I've sold my house and my Fairbanks From Hell loan will be paid-off in about two weeks. THEN, I'm going after them for $1800 in "other charges" that no one can seem to explain to me what they were for. Drive-by's one can only assume. But, even a RESPA request did nothing!

I feel very sorry for all those who are being victumized by this comany, BUT, to pay extra every month just for the privilege of paying your mortgage is ridiculous! When Chase Manhatten tried to screw me out of $40 for a late mortage payment I IMMEDIATELY filled a small claims against them and made sure it was for enough that they wouldn't mess with me again. Eight weeks latter Chase was sending ME a check for $1550 and I used a copy of the court judgeement to make the credit agencies remove the late pay information! Don't put up with crap folks. File lawsuits - file one each and every month if you feel like it, file criminal complaints, file complaints with the postal inspectors for mail fraud, file complaints with the government mortgage agencies, call your local news troubleshooter. No one whould have to put up with this situation.

You are correct in assuming that if you have a signed form for your payment through the US mail, you have proof of making it. Why should we that have held mortgages be responsible for proving our payments are being made to them. If they are this dishonest, something needs to be done. Maybe the payments for this company needs to flow through a 3rd party that is ultimately responsible for keeping the envelopes etc so that the consumers that have Fairbanks loans can build some trust in them again.. I have lost mine
