If I was Family Dollar I would have forwarded your admission of neglect off to CPS. Seriously from your description you not only saw your 2 Year old open up the batteries, but then somehow don't know if she swallowed one. How can you be this inattentive?
By the way there is a real easy way to figure out if she did swallow the battery. That was to see if you could recover it from the "other end" a few hours later.

So which is it, unsafe or unsupervised, in your own admission you said your child "PICKED ONE UP AND OPENED THE BATTERY CASE" you also state you do not know if she swallowed one or not.
1. if you saw the child doing this why would you allow it ?
2. if you were watching your child you would have known whether or not she swallowed it.
This really does show poor customer service it shows POOR PARENTING ON YOUR PART.
BY THE WAY WERE IS THE RIP OFF
