I am a long-time ebay seller and I have a situation that I have never come across before. I shipped out an item that was estimated to cost $191 for shipping, by Fed Ex and the invoice returned owing $835. I have sent similar times with similar dimensions to even further destinations and the cost of shipping was approx between $150-$200.
The estimated cost of $191 appeared to be correct, however the bill I received through ebay, from Fed Ex shows different weights, the item weighed 33 lbs and the invoice charged me for 130 lbs. Also, the invoice had a misc cost of $675.00. Since this time, I sent another item (prior to the incorrect invoice coming through) and again the price for a similar item was between $150-$200.
Of course, I have called ebay, who referred me to call Fed Ex. I called Fed Ex, several times, and they referred me back to ebay. I have called and called and just keep getting the run-around. I would like to see what are my legal options, because I do not think it fair that Fed Ex is overcharging me through ebay like this.
