Read instructions for Met LIfe Beneficiary claim form under the  FEGLI website.

Handed in death certificate and filled out documents. Called for 6 weeks getting same statement like a robot that

" we need to get it confirmed with OPM". only to finally be told after 6 weeks someone needs to also contact OPM to see if death claim was sent in.

OPM was worse stating they have a huge packet to send that needs notarization and that new Metlife forms must be filled out for them.  Was scolded by the lady at OPM that I did it backwards.

 No insturctions stated to cal or contact OPM so had no reason to contact OPM. As a beneficiary with Metlife what do I do with OPM?

 I had no other recourse but to wait. Still waiting.

 FEGLI instructions included "you do not need a lawyer for this form"  think you do.
