Fellowes ripoff - I purchased a Fellowes paper shredder on 2/14/05. It would jam right away and got progressively worse to the point that today 8/28/06 a piece of plastic came up through the shredding gears. Itasca Illinois
I purchased a Fellowes paper shredder on 2/14/05. A year and six months later, today, 8/28/06 a piece of plastic came up from the machine and jammed the cutters rendering the machine useless. I called the number they have listed for help in the United States. 1-800-955-0959. I got Shane on the line at Fellowes. I told Shane the model number was T580C. He asked me what I was lubricating the cutters with. I told him what your company recommends, non-aerosol vegetable oil. He mentioned to shredder numbers that replaces the one I have. I asked if my five year warranty on defects in material and workmanship apply. The answere was ," No" I told him I will buy another shredder but I doubt it will be a fellowes.

Satisfaction and gratitude. Mr. James Fellowes was good on his word to send me a new shredder. I received it on September 5, 2006. Thank you Mr. Fellowes.

I contacted James Fellowes, CEO of Fellowes. He wants me to send him a picture of the unit and says he will send me a new shredder to replace the one I have. We are waiting to see what happens. He seemed like a nice fellow and will probably do the right thing.
