I stayed at Ellington Wachesaw East, a resort that is part of the Festiva Resorts Family in Murrels Inlet, South Carolina last August with my boyfriend and we went on the presentation to become an owner at the resort. I liked the area and the resort itself because it wasn't around all the hoopla of Myrtle Beach itself and told my sales rep that I would be interested in buying there if I could only sale my other timeshare that is in Williamsburg, VA because there was no way I could afford both.

Missi (sales rep) said she was going to make a call to a gentleman she knew that worked with reselling timeshares, she comes back and states that my property was HOT and that he would have no problem selling it, telling me how much I would get for it. blah, blah, blah. I figured I could use the money from the sale to payoff what I owed towards my VA timeshare and put the rest towards the one at Ellington so I decided to purchase there. I know it was my own decision to do this but the sales pitch & the way she presented it to me I really believed I would not have a problem selling it.

WELL was I the SUCKER, NOTHING has happened as for selling and now I'm paying towards 2 timeshares which I CAN NOT afford. I am so mad & furious that someone could actually have no morals or ethics. I sent a letter to Festiva Resorts and I did get a call from the Director of VIP services and she has been trying to help me but there isn't much she can do for me now that I refinanced it. I believe that this was a dishonest sell and that they should buy it back from me for the price that I paid.

I was referred to the National Timeshare Help Center by Ellington to help me sell my units in VA BUT I don't believe I should have to pay for this service AND I'm not going to get the price that was quoted to me by Missi for my units.

My husband and I are owners of Ellington in Murrells Inlet. We bought a timeshare there about 5 years ago and still love the whole idea of the timeshare. We have never traveled so much since buying there and then trading the weeks to go to different places all over the world. I believe this woman that is mad at Ellington is just upset that she cant sell her Williamsburg Timeshare. She needs to just keep them and use them to her advantage. She can use the vacations and go any where she wants by trading in her week or she can rent them to friends. Or Ellington will rent it out for her. She knew that they would hard sell her which is what they do, but dont buy one if you dont want to pay for it, that is just the business. We love ours and the places we go always want us to buy more but we dont need to as they also give 12 getaways each year if we want to go on another vacation for a reasonable price. WE went to Cape cod one year as a Getaway at a 5 star resort for only 239.00 for the week. It is beautiful there. So dont bad mouth Ellington as it is really her fault and be glad you have a way to go on vacation for only 89.00 a week at a festiva resort or 139.00 a week at other places anywhere in the world.
