Maybe you should tell us all who you work for since thousands of times in the past on here you bad mouthed people who wrote in. You claim not to be a 5/3 employee, but you talk the talk and walk the walk.. If it's quaks like a duck then it must be a duck.

The name of the bank I worked for is not necessary.
- Thank you for confirming that if you did post the name it would prove my point about the bank having other RipOff reports.
The bank I owe is quite common, fifth third or I wouldn't be on here writing. NOW DUH
- Yes we all know about 5/3, but by not posting the other TWO banks(one for your credit card, and one for the car) you again have proven that posting those names that those banks are not always nice either.
No I did not believe every customer, but you heard of the customer is always right and the FDCPA laws..
- So even though you didn't believe them they were right? Always means 100% of the time, and any business that truly follows this concept is going to be bankrupted by their own customers. Now, should you do what you can for good customer service..of course. But there are points when it is very obvious the customer is trying to rip you off. Or do you believe someone that buys a 70" TV a day before the Superbowl, can return it(not exchange) for a full refund the day after because it doesn't work?
By the way since you worked for one of the largest banks, you would know that the FDCPA doesn't apply to you as that only applies to 3rd Party Collection Agencies. Since you were a bank you would be considered an Original Creditor.
.I left collections as my son committed suicide in 04/11/12
- If that truly did happen I am sorry for your situation. However, I don't believe that someone who went through this wouldn't start off a RipOff Report by saying that they were one of the "lucky few"
Well I'm pretty much done, so thanks for these posts in brightening my day. It was good seeing a Debt Collector who had the tables turned on them being treated just like they no doubt have treated hundreds of other people.

T o answer your question I left being a collector 04/11/2012..The name of the bank I worked for is not necessary. The bank I owe is quite common, fifth third or I wouldn't be on here writing. NOW DUH. I have every means to locate a customer in 04/12..No I did not believe every customer, but you heard of the customer is always right and the FDCPA laws..About 80% of the folks fullfiled their promise and helped themselves..I left collections as my son committed suicide in 04/11/12. So stick that where the sun don't shine big boy..I may have called you once or twice..

What happened to those days? Just how long ago did you work as a collector? Did they even have phones back then?
Why not tell us what major bank you worked for that was so generous and nice when people became delinquent in "those days". Because I can guarantee you that what ever the name of this "largest" bank that you worked for is, that there will be at least a few RipOff reports from someone who was treated exactly like you were in "these days". Where they were never given the opportunity to just skip a month, or pay only $10 with no interest. Heck, you will see a lot of reports from various banks of people who just wanted something as simple as the late fee for 1 or 2 months removed and they were refused. So if any of those reports are for your bank would those people be lying? Or did they just not talk to you, as you would have moved heaven and earth to do what they wanted if they did.
While you are at it why not post the name of your other credit card company and the amount of debt you have with them.
We were able to get financial information on a customer (just by asking them)
- Oh yea...and they of course were always telling you the 100% truth. Tell us just how many times did you hear "the check is in the mail"...2 or 3 months in a row. Yet the check never seemed to show up...yea that darn USPS.
Also how about telling us just how many of those people who you got to pay $10 did your bank go after in court because you were able to re-age the account? Did those people who you got to pay $10 have a $20,000 credit card debt?
For someone who worked 3 years in collections. Are you going to with a straight face say you believed every single story you were given and believed them every single time someone threatened Bankruptcy?
Hey perhaps I am wrong. Maybe your bank is still truly the "nice" bank when it comes to collecting. So why not post the name of the bank. I am sure that with the bad press that Collectors get that people would flock to bank that are "nicer".

Yes I was a real collector for one of the largest banks in the USA for 3 years..We were able to get financial information on a customer (just by asking them) and was able to see if I was able to get them to make payments as low as 10.00 a month for 3,6, or 12 months. We removed finance charges and late fees for that period of time and of course blocked the card from being used. And that helped to reage an account and help them get reestablished and back up on their feet again. and it showed on their credit report account in good standing again. What happened to those days ?
PS: I was also a student loan collector..

First of all if you were really a collector, you know the reality you are facing. If you have a $20,000 credit card debt with one bank, skipping a single month isn't going to help you. So just what did you want them to do to help you?
Funny they would accept bankruptcy but would not take a reaged account with payment. Does not make sense to me.
- If you were really a collector it would make total sense as to why they don't take this Bankruptcy "Threat" seriously.
