I made the mistake of purchasing something from Fingerhut in 1999. I had been paying with no problems until I lost my job in November 2003, at which time I contacted someone about it and made arrangements. This was fine until I moved. I called and had my address changed about January of 2004. Then I recieved no mail from them at all.
I tried to call them again and again but of course this time i did not have a 15 digit account number to enter in their automated service because i had not recieved a bill in several months. The automated service does not even give a chance to speak to anyone it just tells you to call back when you have your account number. I have tried to call several times and several different numbers to try and get my account number but none have worked.
I have since moved again and have gotten married and recently checked my credit report which shows that fingerhut has sold my account to a collection agency called Jefferson Capital Systems LLC. The credit bureau did not have any phone numbers to contact Jefferson capital and of course i have recieved no mail whatsoever from them or even notifying me of the collection activity. I have looked everywhere on the internet for a phone listing for this company and have had no luck. I have even written to fingerhut and had no reply. I want to pay this account but find it hard when i cant even talk to anyone about it, and i have no idea where to send payment to.
If there is anyone out there who may have a phone number for Jefferson Capital please let me know. I think it is bad business not to respond to customers about their account when they are trying to do the right thing. I have tried every way you can imagine to try and contact these people so i can get my address finally corrected and pay them. I dont know what else to do but i have to pay this and get it off my credit.

This is all I have for them: 800-900-4111 800-755-9333 Fax 320-229-8583 Po box 7999 Saint Cloud, MN 56302 And Yes I USED to be employed by them but quit because of their Shabby ways. But one thing I am questioning about not getting statments is how come you did not forward your mail through the Post Office?

I TO WENT THROUGH THE PAINFULL TASK OF TRYING TO CONTACT FINGERHUT. FINALLY I GOT A NUMBER FOR THIS JEFFERSON CAPTIAL ON MY CREDIT REPORT I CALLED THEM AND THEY SENT ME A LETTER TO FILL OUT AFTER A MONTH OF STAYING ON TOP OF THESE PEOPLE I FINALLY GOT A LETTER STATING THAT THE CHARGES WOULD BE REMOVED FROM MY REPORT. BUT BE CAREFULL!!!!! KEEP ALL DOCUMENTATION FROM THEM BECAUSE THESE THINGS WILL COME BACK TO HAUNT YOU. BUT AS LONG AS YOU HAVE A LETTER FROM THEM STATING THAT IT WAS PAID OR REMOVED NO ONE CAN DENY YOU CREDIT

I have a phone number for Jefferson Capital...you can call 800 281 2793 ....you don't have to have an account number...or atleast I didn't! Hope this helps! J.

I filed bankruptcy almost 4 years ago and Fingerhut was one of the creditors. Now I have Jefferson on my credit report trying to collect monies that I no longer owe. I would truly like to get a hold of them also but in an attempt to do so I saw this page first. Does anyone have the number so I can get this straightened out?

I figured out how to get a hold of Jefferson Capital Systems. THe response that I got even had the full account #, so I will be able to call them now. I sent a certified letter to them. The same day I got my green card back from them, I received a letter to dispute. Obvioulsy, they knew if I sent it certified, I was serious. So that is my suggestions to you.

My husband is in the same situation, although he had never even heard of Fingerhut. When we got his credit report, there was Jefferson Capital Systems dba Compucredit in St. Cloud, MN. I do have a number of phone numbers for them, but they are all automated and you cannot speak with a rep unless you have the account number. The message says to fax them and they will respond in 10 days via US mail. Well, we tried that three times, and received NOTHING. So what I am doing is sending a certified letter with all the faxes and other correspondence to them. Hopefully that will get some sort of response. I am sorry that I cannot help you anymore.
