I rented a car from Firefly and was originally quoted $82.04. When I returned the car I ended up paying $346!!! So it started at the pickup. The rep told me that the car I rented only traveled 75mph and would not make it to another state so she suggested an upgrade. I fell for it and upgraded because I had no idea I needed to be on guard because I was getting professionally conned. The rep then asked me if I wanted additional coverage or just basic to which I replied "basic" because I did not want the additional, inflated coverages that I didn't need. Once I received my estimated bill at the counter the price was $243. I thought maybe the $200 deposit or the upgrade or $100 in taxes was affecting the price so I signed the contract and left. As I was on my way out of town I looked closely at the receipt and there was a column that said "additional optional add-ons" and I saw car insurance for $25 a day that I NEVER requested. In fact I denied that coverage so I thought. So I march back to the store and request them to remove it which the girl rep kept trying to convince me to keep it and up selling, up selling, up selling. She finally told me she would remove it but I would have to turn the car back in and I would have to pay for the whole day and then pay for the whole day again in the re-newed contract. I have tried calling their store to speak with someone but I just reach an answering machine and no one calls me back. When I call their rental line I just get teansferred all over the place. I tagged them on a Facebook post and one of their representatives asked how they could help. I asked for a refund for the charges their rep conned me out of so she can get a fat commission check. They said since I signed the contract they cannot help. I am stuck paying the 342 dollars. $111 of it was the gas charge for filling my tank.. Bull.

I don't know where you work but I don't need to do anything to con people nor would I work at such a place cause I don't roll like that. I just wasn't aware that this kind of thing happens at places other than auto shops. I won't rent from them again but people need to know that these are their tactics. I have a problem that they are inaccessible if you try and call them and that they don't call you back. I think they are a shady company and after doing some research I see that I am not the only person they have burned. $300 lesson

The epic fail was that YOU signed the contract WITHOUT READING IT!!!! NEVER assume, when you assume you do so at your own risk. Its their job to upsell. You may not like it but that is how they pay their bills. Just as YOU have to do things at YOUR job so do they. Get over it and move on. And dont use them ever again. THEY are RIGHT that since YOU signed the contract YOU are responsible for the charges.
