First Capital Consumers Group RIPOFF, CON GAME, FALSE REPRESENTATION OF VISA & MASTER CARD consumer fraud ripoff Toronto Ontario
I received a phone call offering me a "great" opportunity to re-establish my credit after a devistating year in 1996.
I was told that for a one time only payment of $199.00 I would receive a Visa Card with a credit limit of $2,000.00 and a Master Card with a credit limit of $2,500.00, both Cards would be 0% interest for the first year and capped at 4.9% interest for lifetime membership thereafter, monthly payments were to be 5% of the balance charged on the card.
I was told no annual fee no hidden charges. Daily cash advance available would be $500.00. I kept asking the sales representative "what is the catch, there has to be something, if it sounds to good to be true then it must be", her response was the only catch is the one time payment of $199.00.
Several times I asked "these cards are real, this is not just an application fee to be allowed to apply for the credit cards? She responed "no, these are actual Visa and Master Card credit cards, we keep the interest low to help you be able to establish new credit".
Since the minute the money was taken from my checking account I have never reached a person at the phone number given to me only a recording either telling me the mail box is full please hang up or a message asking me to leave a message and someone will call back. I have left at least ten messages and no response.
I have and would advise anyone who has fallen for this to close out your current checking account and open a new one ASAP, and let your bank know what has happened. Who's to say these devils won't hit your account again and get away with it.
I am a single mom of three year old twins in daycare and trying to put a 19 yearold through college without child support. It was already impossible withouth this happening....I and many others I am sure could not afford to loose $199.00. It makes me ill to think people can do this to other people. But my belief is that THEY WILL GET THERE! eventually.
