Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
We've been screwed so many times by this company that its hard to decide when it started. About a year ago, we started receiving a "denial of access to meter" charge of $25. When asked about it, they said the meter reader couldn't get inside my yard to read the meter. We had lived in this house a year and a half before with the same fenced in yard and the same dogs. No notice was given, no charges were removed, nothing. They wanted me to move my fence (I live a block from the county jail where at least 5 inmates have escaped since we've been here)or pay them to move my meter. Didn't matter that the reader reads every meter in town with binoculars from his truck anyway.

Then a couple of months ago, I got two bills in one month, one for $127, and a new one for $408. The $408 was supposedly playing catch-up from a year's worth of estimated meter readings. My bills have been high the last several months already. We don't have central heat, my stove and hot water heater are both gas.

Without having much choice, I paid that bill with the stipulation that my meter be replaced and the old one tested. Before the old meter was replaced, I got yet another bill for $160. There was no excuse for this one since the meter had actually been read the two times before, but they claimed we were still playing catchup. The old meter tested fine, and my electril bill has dropped considerably since the new meter was put in. The problem we now think was the idiot meter reading. When he actually did read it, he read it wrong.

Multiple complaints have been filed. These are only a few. No one offers to fix anything. The Texas Public Utilities Commission sides with the electric company without ever even contacting me for the full story. I can't switch companies because there are no other choices here. So we just have to be screwed over and over again while we try and save up money to move.
