FCNB - Speigel CC ripoff late fees on paid off account untimely payment processing Beaverton Oregon
This is my 2nd complaint against this company. GET THIS! I made my July payment 1 month in advance sent April 25 Due May 16 for the total amount on my credit card of $550.
On May 20th I recieved a statment with a $35 late fee applied the day after my payment was received, I attempted to get a hold of someone.. thats a joke! after calling 5 differant numbers most long distance, I spoke to a woman, who stated " O, Im just an operator I dont have that infomation, let me connect you to that department" when I told her I had a question about my account after 15 min. of being on hold a man picks up, I tell him my situation he takes my account number, the last four digits of my social, my address and my mothers maiden name and says please hold.
About 5 min. later he comes back & say's "I'm sorry I can't discuss that information with you, please send your written complaint to blah blah blah...( LIKE I HAD A PEN HANDY!!) So I asked him if I do write, am I guaranteed you'll get it and I won't be charged another late fee? O' NO that could happen, but they'll deal with it later! I was like WOW! what a professional answer!
So I hung up. I went ahead and paid the fee over the phone accepting the $8 processing charge, thinking that it would be charged to my checking account with the payment just so I wouldnt screw up my credit. But June rolls around and I get a statment saying I owe an $8 phone fee to my FCNB card. So I send a check out on June 26th as my payment is due July 17, it should have plenty of time to get there. As of July 15th the check hadn't cleared, so I call the FCNB 800 number to see if it was posted, but thats disconected and told me to call a 516 #, I did that, but no its not posted and now they say send payment to NY not the OR address on the statments!
As of today I am being charged another $35 late fee for My $8 phone fee. I reported them to the OR BBB, but what do I do in the meantime? If you know PLEASE HELP!!!
