First Texas Homes Corrupt, dishonest, no customer service, DON'T waste your time or money! Murphy Texas
We had a horrible building experience with First Texas Homes in Murphy. They started out by failing to install features of the home that were in the original contract. The salesperson did not price our upgrades and more than 6 months later, we still didn't know what we were paying for the house - apparently, he was signing our name on change orders!
The quality of the construction was poor - bowed lumber, termite infested, etc. No customer service - when things weren't right, they would fight with you about it. When the salesperson left Murphy, the new salesperson seemed decent at first, but when we approached him with our issues, he literally started screaming at us with no provocation - my husband and I looked at each other in complete disbelief - we had never even raised our voices. It was so far from normal behavior, we never returned.
I wrote a letter to the corporate office and the office manager, Kathy Self, tried to turn it around and claimed absoutely no responsibility for a nightmare experience! They offered to transfer the earnest money but would not refund our money (like we would ever build with them again!!).
I wish I had seen this website before my nightmare experience - everything you read here is absolutely true!! Save your money - the floorplans are great and so is the price, but IT IS NOT WORTH IT!!
